Southwest Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation with headquarters in Texarkana, Arkansas, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of:

SYSTEM OPERATIONS TECH I at the Cooperative Headquarters

The work schedule is 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. weekdays with possible weekends, holidays and other work hours to support major outages as needed.

The starting wage is $19.39 per hour with an excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities include:

·  Work as required, normally during weekdays, to receive and record emergency reports and requests from customers of the Cooperative.

·  Call out service and construction personnel as needed and may coordinate work activities of personnel on call-out.

·   Responsible for reporting and keeping accurate records of all major system service interruption events including detailed information concerning the causes.

·   Monitor corporate headquarters facilities alarm system and make periodic security checks during standby and before leaving shift.

·  Operate and monitor Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and equipment for the Cooperative.

·  Operate and monitor the Automatic Meter Infrastructure (AMI) systems and equipment for the cooperative.  (Tantalus or other systems similar in function)

·  Maintain and update the Automated Mapping/Facilities Management system (Mapping).

·  Operate and monitor the Cooperative Response Center (CRC) interface equipment.

·  Assist in maintaining the Cooperative’s engineering data information files for NISC, CRC, Tantalus, Survalent and Mapping.

·  Perform other dispatcher and general service assignments as directed and required.

·  Prepare and assimilate reports and documents to support Engineering requirements.

·  Perform computer related patch management for Microsoft Windows OS as well as 3rd party patch management.

·  Perform other job assignments as directed and required; and is subject to work weekends, holidays and other hours outside normal shift hours to support major outages as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·  Ability to effectively communicate with the public, membership, and other employees in person, by telephone, by Internet, and over the two-way radio.

·  Ability to competently use a computer for various types of data input and inquiry applications, including but not limited to:  NISC outage and billing system, CRC answering system, SCADA system, AMI system, Mapping system, spreadsheet programs, word processing programs, database management programs, and other engineering/operations software as required for the compilation of outage, operational, and facilities data.

·  Ability to interpret SCADA information, system maps, and AMI information in order to determine the nature and location of system faults, including the development of outage restoration plans in conjunction with district personnel.

·  Ability to coordinate and execute SCADA switching activities with district personnel according to established procedures.

·  Ability to analyze and interpret Cooperative and PSC rules and regulations dealing with meter connects/disconnects and delinquent account collection.

·  Valid driver’s license required.

Working Relationships

·  Ability to work with district managers, standby, and operations personnel in meter disconnect and service restoration activities.

·  Ability to work with SOT(s) and other employees on adjacent shifts in transferring and acquiring relevant standby lists, customer outage information and other cooperative policies/procedures and developments relating to service restoration activities and resetting of customers meters on delinquent accounts.

·  Ability to work with the Director of Information Technology and Communications and the Manager of Networks, Systems and Applications in establishing goals and objectives for the department, setting work priorities and accomplishing other special projects.

·  Ability to work with District Managers and SOT(s) in obtaining lists of standby personnel and in acquiring and transferring customer outage/service restoration information.

·  Ability to work with engineering personnel in maintaining and updating the AMI system.

·  Ability to work with Manager of Member Services when additional information and/or  arrangements are required or made with consumers to reset meters.

·  Ability to work with line or service personnel in dispatching work activities and outages.

·  Ability to work with other operations and engineering personnel relating to electric service.

·  Ability to work with IT personnel relating to hardware, software and systems security.

Experience and Education

·  High School diploma required.  An Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Information Technology or related technical field preferred.

·  Previous experience working with the public in a similar position or capacity preferred.

·  Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
